PLAYROLL LAB · ROLL
Make the roll come alive
Three experiments where the page itself rolls. Each shows the options side by side, with a recommended pick. Try them on your phone. Back to the lab
Roll me a Play
Tap Roll. The covers spin, slow down and land on a random Play, and Play it opens it in the player. Scroll to browse, roll to be surprised.
Ready to roll
Ready to roll
Vertical, like the feed itself, so it reads as "the roll, spun for you". Tap the reel or the button.
Playful and tactile, but it says "cards" more than "roll", and leans a little casino.
The wordmark rolls when you scroll
Scroll inside each phone. The faster you scroll, the faster it rolls. It settles back the moment you stop.
playroll
playroll
playrollSays roll literally, and lands back on r-o-l-l the moment you stop, so the logo is always readable at rest.
Fun to watch, but letters flip upside down mid-roll, so it's harder to read while moving.
The calmest. The word stays still and the logo does the rolling. Pairs well with A.
The Plays wall sits on a drum
Scroll inside each phone and watch the tiles.
The most "drum", but the wall is always curved, which makes the tiles at the edges harder to see.
Feels physical while you scroll and goes flat the moment you stop, so browsing stays easy.
Playful, but the lag can feel like the page is struggling on slower phones.
